INSPECTION PORTS

The Importance of Inspection Ports

Your insulation should undergo non-destructive testing (NDT) every five years, according to OSHA’s Process Safety Management and (RMP) Risk Management Procedures. Fortunately, an inspection port can ensure that your ammonia refrigeration system can have an NDT without damaging or removing the existing insulation.

The port is installed on the insulation pipe, vessel, tank, or other process equipment. The location allows the inspector to get to the insulation without removing it. And since the inspection port provides a standardized thickness measurement location, inspections will always be taken from the same place for accurate results.

Most companies don’t offer this service, but Evans Services Group LLC is here to help you monitor corrosion and keep your system in great shape for many years to come.
